Prélude Musique

Our school

What is a Prelude?

“That which precedes, announces, prepares, foreshadows something…”
Larousse

Our school is the prelude that prepares you to express your talent.

Prélude Musique was born from a desire to offer a quality presence and personalized support for each learner’s musical journey. This school aims to respond to a growing need for connection.

Our mission is to develop your passion.

At Prélude Musique, we have learners. This broader term can include students, but it places more emphasis on the active learning process. A learner is someone who wants to acquire skills or knowledge. They are often more autonomous, because of their willingness to be truly involved in the pursuit of their goals.

“Wisdom is having dreams big enough that you don’t lose sight of them while you pursue them.”

Oscar Wilde

Pauline B. Racine

Pauline B. Racine

School director, voice and introductory piano

Having fallen into music like Obelix into the magic potion, Pauline quickly developed a passion for it. Singing became a way to express herself and communicate.

Her involvement in the Victoriaville cultural scene began with gospel and liturgical singing. Singing in harmony was already second nature by her teens.

In 2001-2002, she refined her jazz and classical singing in Montreal.

On arriving in the Outaouais, she became involved in choral singing before going on to direct a choir herself.

She has taken part in several musical adventures, including a collaboration on the album 1001 Moments – Espoirs et Pénombres / Hope and Shadowy Lights by Dave Quessy.

After teaching singing at home, she joined a local school in 2020, and since then more than a hundred learners have benefited from her personal and musical support.

Alongside her teaching, she became a trainer for the next generation of teachers before embarking on the adventure that is Prélude.

She is already looking forward to meeting you and singing together.

Mathilde Guénard

Mathilde Guénard

Voice teacher

From the age of 10, Mathilde developed an interest in singing. She began her musical journey guided by our director, Pauline. Over five years she deepened her talent and knowledge, adding vocal and projection techniques to her toolbox, along with tips for placing sounds well in the mouth to maximize resonance.

Throughout her musical path, she gained considerable confidence in herself and her abilities. She then became an intern and taught alongside her mentor before becoming a teacher in her own right.

Now studying early childhood education, Mathilde combines music and pedagogy, and is eager to meet her learners.

Samael Saumure

Samael Saumure

Voice teacher

Samael Saumure is joining our team of vocal instructors this year. Passionate about music for the past five years, he distinguished himself at Secondaire en spectacle for two consecutive years, winning the provincial finals in 2023 and the regional finals in 2024.

With two years of teaching experience already, Samael brings inspiring energy, solid stage experience, and a sincere desire to support each student in exploring their voice.

We are very happy to welcome him among us.

Our studio

We wanted somewhere that does not feel like a classroom. A studio you walk into with your coat still on, where you sit down for a minute and breathe before you sing.

Pale wood on the walls and ceiling softens both the light and the sound. The armchairs are comfortable, the rug is bright, and there are books, games and a tea corner. Nothing intimidating: it is a living room where music happens.

It is a space made for the youngest and for adults alike. The same room welcomes a five-year-old discovering sounds and an adult learner singing in front of someone for the very first time.

Inside the Prélude Musique studio: pale wood walls, bookshelves, armchairs and a sunlit music corner.
